Hi,
Looking for suggestions of a place for family to eat to celebrate a wedding - one that can cater for all ages and food tastes (2 of the party are vegetarian, and we%26#39;ll have 2 under 5%26#39;s).
Looking at some of the reviews on here, people have mentioned the traditional meze dish option - can anyone recommend this?
Ideally somewhere in Kato Paphos - harbour area would be fine, but would also welcome anwhere that%26#39;s good value for money.
Thanks!

try the demokritos restaurant, it isn%26#39;t near the harbour though. they cater for wedding parties is always busy , keeps the traditional terverna atmosphere.
It is family run and you are always made to feel welcome. we found it by accident one night when getting lost down some side streets. the mousaka and tavas are excellent.

If you are after super special but still at reasonable prices - I would reckoment Tex - head down the road away from the harbour and it is up pn the right oppossite teh I think Almyra hotel - sure there are directions online as we managed to find it!
Wonerful top class food - and they did up a starter for a 3 year old with some veg and potatoes to be like a full meal with no extra charge
Also when we wre there they gave a chap a bottle of wine as was his birthday - might have something special for a weddign celebration?
Cheers

Apologies for my terrible typing there!

I agree with Scaryfish, We went to Tex twice during our recent holiday and both times the food and service was excellent. Dont be fooled by the name it is not Tex-Mex food but international. While we were there they were offering some very good discounts in order to beat the recession, well done them!

Hello all, thanks for the replies and suggestions. I will have a look at these.
Just over 8 months to go until we are out there - I cant wait!

Take a browse through our website, there are so many great places to eat in Paphos region, and obviously Kato Paphos is just full of eateries so focusing in on one %26#39;just like that%26#39; is so hard !
Are you able to come before to do some %26#39;field research%26#39; so you can check out first hand ?

The Meze Corner opposite Athena Beach hotel, is ideal for a celebration or a quite meal, the food and staff are excellent, check out the reviews on TA!

HI
further to my posting on the demokritos resturant; we have just arrived back from Paphos and this being one of our favorite resturants we paid them a visit. they were pleased to see us as usual, but from there on everything went down hill. the compilmentry dips did not arrive, the tavas was so salty it was inedible, and the complimentry cake and fruit was also off the menu.
A complaint about the main course was treated without concern. We later found out the matriach of the business had recently died and the resturant was now controlled by her son who has made changes but not for the better.
However our other favorite resturant %26#39;Zorbas%26#39; was as good as ever again a traditional taverna and they love children. It%26#39;s on the Kings Road about 400yds from the roman hotel

Hi. Just returned from Paphos and we went twice to 7 St George%26#39;s restaurant. We actually have been before to a wedding about 4 years ago.
It%26#39;s a traditional family-run place and the food is brought out to you as meze until you ask to stop. I guess for a wedding though, you could negotiate a more fixed menu so you know what you are getting.
The food is excellent quality, rustic and for some of the courses, quite rich. The bread is delicious - home baked raisin bread and organic wine.
At the wedding we went to, they cleared the tables and played both traditional music and some favourites the couple had brought with them. You will sit under a vine covered terrace but it%26#39;s not exactly picturesque - it%26#39;s on a quiet semi-residential road. As mentioned, the restaurant is family run, very relaxed and our taxi driver mentioned it had been there %26#39;forever%26#39;!
We enjoyed the wedding four years ago and our return visit last week.
