Hi everyone. I am new to trip advisor and in need of some help and advice...
I visited Cyprus with a group of girl friends in Summer 2007, and stayed in Protaras (Lantiana Gardens). I plan to return to Cyprus in Summer 2010, for a quieter holiday with my boyfriend (both in mid-late twenties), and very much like the look and sound of Hotel Anais Bay.
I have read many reviews but would like to find out a bit more about Pernera itself, particularly how it compares to Protaras. Being huge beach lovers, how do Pernera%26#39;s beaches compare to the beautiful (yet crowded) Fig Tree Bay? Also, how does the nightlife compare?
Any comments from visitors to this hotel and/or area will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. :-)

We stayed here 7 or 8 years ago and really liked the hotel.It%26#39;s very laid back with many repeat customers which is always a good sign. The pool area is fairly small and can get a bit cramped in high season bit it never got noisy and rowdy like many hotels. If a view is important to you then I would go for a high floor sea view room. Some of the lower rooms haven%26#39;t really a great outlook, nothing bad just not great. The hotel was always kept clean and the staff ,especially Nick(one of 2 sons),were very friendly.Things may have changed over the years but as long as the family is still involved I would think it%26#39;s still as good.
As for the beaches there is one a short walk round the corner in front of the Golden Coast hotel.It%26#39;s a decent beach and quite picturesque. It doesn%26#39;t have the classic sand and sea look of Fig Tree bay but it doesn%26#39;t have the claustrophobic feel of there either.Pernera beach is a 5 minute walk the other way(through the complex across the road from the Anais Bay) but to be honest it%26#39;s not as nice as the Golden Coast one but you might want to go for a change.
As for nightlife I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;re aware Pernera is much smaller than Protaras.You%26#39;ll probably find that you%26#39;ll find a bar that you like and end up going there and staying most nights,or going into Protaras.

Thanks for your advice, dav65.
Are there many bars and restaurants in Pernera? I found Protaras a great resort for a group holiday, however next year I am looking for something more relaxed.
Ideally, we%26#39;d like a picturesque beach resort with enough restaurants and fairly relaxed bars to keep us entertained in the evenings (not sure if we%26#39;re going for a week or two yet).
We%26#39;d like to be within walking distance of amenities yet in a quiet spot if possible. The Anais Bay sounds just right, particularly as it is family-run and far smaller than other accomodation in the area.

The Anais Bay is a fabulous little hotel but you will need to get booked early. Loads of repeat customers year after year. Quiet location but only 2 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from restaurants. Fantastic little place. The other nice aparthotel is The Domniki - have sent you a PM.

We have stayed in the Anais Bay for the last nine years and are going again in 2010, hotel is great clean and quiet, it is owned by two brothers Yannis and Nik they are really friendly and make you feel like one of the family, don%26#39;t be afraid to ask them for anything you need, they will do anything to help.
Hope this helps.
