Wedding at Ayia Napa Town Hall-HELP

Hi,

We are planning to get married in May 2010. We started at the travel agents, was going to do it in a hotel but are on a really tight budget so decided to do it in the town hall. I have since decided im going to do it all on my own as i just cannot afford to go through the travel agents.

Ive been tryin to contact ayia napa town hall but have had no reply. I know the basic cost of doing it, but im starting to worry that im not going to have any idea what to do once im out there. Will have no help from holiday reps etc, as im booking the hotel through a cheap online place.

Does anyone know the basic procedure- i take it a book an appointment from here, then when i fly out, i%26#39;ll go to app with all relevent documents etc. then hopefully have wedding on my chosen day.

also, will there be someone at the town hall who speaks english as i wont have the holiday rep helping me??? Will the ceremony be in english? (not sure if when u pay travel agents, you are then paying for translation) how about music/decorations?

Also would like any suggestions of nearby restaurants where the whole group could go for dinner after the ceremony.

Im starting to worry as i have no one to ask for help about all the little things, but i have saved about £1500 by doing it myself!!!

Any suggestions about any aspect would be much appreciated!!

Hiya

What email address did you use to contact them? We have booked our flight %26amp; hotel ourselves as worked out cheaper and then have booked our wedding package through Olympic Holidays which has saved the hassles etc as they book the date %26amp; photographer etc and it hasnt worked out that expensive. As we didnt book the holiday with them we paid £299 admin fee to use them to co-ordinate the wedding for us and the co-ordinator will be there all day to help us (and act as a witness!!), yes it is more than what you would pay to do yourselves but it does save a lot of the hassle especially if there is going to be a group pf you.

There is only me %26amp; h2b going and we get married in the Amphitheatre at the town hall in October this year.

Oh i didnt realise you could still use a travel agent to organise, i was too worried to ask!!!

I used the weddings@agianapa.org.cy but ive seen on another post to mail info@agianapa.org.cy so i have just tried that.

We are booking our hotel through thisistravel and hopefully the town hall directly, but i could still contact one of the travel agents as a wedding planner???

thanks for the help

If you are going to use a trsvel agent as the planner then you may aswell let them do the contact with the town hall etc. This is what we have done with ours. We told Olympic Holidays what day we arrive and the day we would like to get married and the time and they contact the town hall confirm etc and then let you know when it is booked. Think they confirmed our day etc within a few hours! They are very helpful and are sorting photographer and flowers etc. We are paying £179 for 24 photos in an album then when we get there we are paying an extra approx £480 for 12 extra photos 3 enlargements and all negatives of photos taken on the day. Flowers arent costing much either £5 for rose buttonhol %26amp; £29 for my rose posy! Wedding car is costing approx £70.

Contact Fanoulla at the weddings department if Olympic Holidays - she is a great help!!!

Thanks for all your help..

To be honest, not even sure we can afford the 299 for the wedding package, but if it helps keep me stress free it may be worth it.

Do you have a contact number for the lady you mentioned?

Thanks for the link, am looking now! xx

Hi,

Yes thomson was the first place i went to and funnily enough had picked club atlantica sungarden too!!! but prices were ridiculous, 14nights was 997pp and we just cant afford that aswell as the 859 wedding package.

We%26#39;ve decided to use MedWeds now to organise the wedding which is costing £300 but like you said, def worth it, im so chilled out about the whole thing now. We%26#39;ve changed our minds again and are doing it in the garden of eden restaurant with a meal after- which guests are going to pay for themselves.

We booked our hotel and flight through ulookubook.com and got a total holiday price for 10nights all inclusive for £882 which i think is fantastic. wedding at restaurant cost 130(euros) plus the license fee of 281(euros)

thanks again for everyones help!
