We are off to Paphos on Saturday and the exchange rate is as low as 1.03 to 1.06 here. Poor! Was wondering if it would be better to exchange the bulk of our money in Paphos or, if the rate is similar, just change it at home. I know the rate changes daily but would appreciate any info. ie. where to exchange money. Thanks in advance.

hi I think that you would be best off doing the same as we have done take enough euros for the first dayt then wander around the local shops ,be carefull doing this as some give quite a bit more than others ,you should get more for your money than you would over here julie

Thank You for your quick reply. Thats what we will probably do. the rate does seem to be worse at home than abroad. Thanks.

agreed quite a few giving better rates within the resort, Vienna Rest you can pay for your meal in sterling and they are giving a far better rate such as £1 - €1.50. This fluctulates on the daily rate.

The ATMs also give a good rate. If you have a Nationwide account , they do not charge commission in Europe. We usually take our cards, plus some sterling, and whatever euros are left from the last holiday.

Many thanks for your help. Will take your advice and use cards, etc. Looking forward to Paphos very much.
