late october temperatures+suitable clothing

we are having a week in kyrenia -last week in October-advice please on suitable clothing in the evenings-are linen trousers+tops /sundresses+cardies +sandals warm enough or should I take winter trousers +sox and shoes for wandering around before/after our meal

October can be mixed. Sunbathing during the day but chilly-ish at night. I would go with the linen trousers/tops, sandals, etc but also take cardies and a pashmina. Could be wet so bear that in mind too.

I have just returned on the 12th October from Kyrenia the weather was brilliant sunshine everyday. The evenings were a little cooler I just needed a cardigan. A local guide told me that northern cyprus does not receive a lot of rain.

Hi WirralCamilla. Returned on 12th Oct to UK. Daytime temps were sizzling but evenings deffo required warm cardies, pashminas or jackets. Each week its cooling down. Higher up you are (e.g. foothills, Bellapais etc) the cooler it is. Late Oct/early Nov is a transition time for East Med%26#39;n weather. You could be really lucky and have no rain or winds. On t%26#39;other hand...... just be prepared for ANYTHING as it can all change overnight, especially after the very long and hot Summer the island has gone through. One thing%26#39;s for sure - temps will never get as cold as over here!! Enjoy your hols.

Hi, just returned yesterday 18th October and we had a scorching week, no rain at all. Even night times I only needed to cover my arms one night earlier on in the week. Since then it has got hotter and they were saying they expected daytime temperatures of 35C next week. We were in Bellapais so expected it to be a bit cooler but all my long sleeved tops and cardigans came back unworn. However I don%26#39;t think you can take this as the norm as the locals said it was hotter than usual at that time of year. Have a lovely time.

hello.

we have just returned from 2 wks in Famagusta (first time to TRNC) and it was wall-to-wall sunshine - it was 37 deg. at the airport in Larnaca when we left on Friday 16th. On that side of the island it felt definitely warmer and was less cloudy than on the Kyrenia coast. No sleeves required even at night for us, but it%26#39;s a personal thing I guess, as some were wearing sweaters at night.

I highly recommend a visit to the TRNC and it made a really nice change from the Greek side where we have been so many times before. I would recommend spending Turkish Lira as opposed to Euros as the exchange rate in nearly every establishment we visited was 2:1 for Euros. You get a better exchange rate by changing your money locally or by using the ATM%26#39;s. (as much as 2.37/£ on some days.) Maybe not a vast amount, a little goes a long way sometimes!

Enjoy your holiday - we certainly did and will definitely go back.
