Two weeks to go!

Hi everyone we are due to arrive in Paphos 13.10.09.

Could anyone advise about taking sterling with us or should we get euros before we leave. This our eighth visit to Cyprus and have always taken currency with us in the past.

Thanks

We always take sterling and change it as we need it. It means a SLIGHTLY better rate, we find, and you%26#39;re not left with euros to change back if you have any left!!!

I would agree with previous post. We got back yesterday and we took a mixture of sterling and travellers cheques. It was easy to change both in local shops and banks and the rate is posted outside. You do get a better deal for cash but for security reasons we preferred to take some in travellers cheques. It is more expensive to get your Euros here. The rate is not good though we were getting €1.12 to the £ when we arrived but it had dropped to €1.07 when we left yesterday and I believe is still dropping.

We took some sterling and mainly EURO traveller cheques. That way you%26#39;re not panicking if the already dire euro rate collapses even more whilst your out there!!

Hi

Just got back yesterday and took a few Euros but used my Nationwide Card and the highest rate I got was 1.119 but it did fall even further.

Thanks to all for the replies so far.I hope it doesn%26#39;t drop any further.
