shops

hi can anyone tell me if supermarkets etc will be open on thursday 1st october (its independence day).

We arrive the evening before and are self-catering. Any help and advice would be great.

I don%26#39;t know for sure as I%26#39;ve never been at that time of year but I%26#39;d hazard a guess ...

October is just at the end of the main season so its likely that in the tourist areas something will be open even if some are shut. If nothing else is open usually the bakers are and do more than just bread !

There is a big parade planned in Nicosia so I%26#39;d guess not everything will be open as some must be going.
