Pernera villa

Hi, I am looking at a villa at Pernera it says it is next to the harbour. Are there any beaches nearby and what are they like. I know fig tree bay beach is nice in Protras but wanted to know if they are any nice sandy beaches near the villa within walking distance. Also wanted to know if the harbour area has bars, restaurants etc and what would be the cost of a taxi into Protaras. If we decided to drive into Protras would it be difficult to find parking? Any help is much appreciates as we have never been to cyprus. Thanks a lot

Fantastic area to stay in - I think its one of the best. Louma Beach is right next to the harbour, Sirena Bay (Shirley Valentine country!) only 2 minutes away, Pernera Beach 5 minutes away, Fig Tree Bay approximately 30 minute walk. Protaras 10 minute drive but there really wouldn%26#39;t be any need to take the car as there is a lovely new coastal walkway into Protaras which will take about 20 minutes. Regular buses 1.50euro. Taxis 8 euros. There is a small kiosk at the harbour which does light snacks and drinks. Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Restaurants only 5/10 minutes away. If you send me a PM I will give you a detailed run down of Pernera.

Hi Charlarry

Pernera has loads of nice sandy beaches, which should be within walking distance of your villa. (I have a villa in Ayia Triada so I know!)

The harbour is small, but lovely, has one bar with stunning views, but is right next to Golden Coast hotel, so more bars there. Pernera has loads of bars.Taxi approx 15 Euros max, you can hire cars locally, (my management gets my guests good deals, so maybe your villa owner can do the same?) Protaras is easy to park specially out of main season.

Hope you enjoy it, I am out next week and can%26#39;t wait!

Hi Kath, Sirena Bay -- Shirley Valentine country, love it! Spot on description! Will be there next week, can%26#39;t wait....

Looks like I am payinmg too much for cabs by your pricing, but I usually have a large taxi for 6 people to be fair.

Am looking forward to seeing the completed pathway,

I enjoy your posts, good to see another Protaras/ Pernera/Paralimni fan!

Parking at meters on the main Drag in Protaras

This year as I was about to put my Euro%26#39;s in the Meter The Local Bar Owner told me not to bother as the Local Authorities had not had the correct Laws passed to enable them to enforce the Parking Regulations

Anybody else heard of this ?
