Anyone ?

Turtles nest on Lara Beach but I%26#39;m not really sure at what time of the year. However they are a protected species and although it would probably be everyones dream to have a swim with a turtle they really should be left well alone to breed in peace. In other words %26quot;tourists not really welcome%26quot;!

So we%26#39;re not allowed to snorkell incase we see some turtles ??

The Lara Bay area is part of a conservation project.
Suggest you visit the Polis tourist info office- which is excellent- if you plan to snorkel you need to be aware of strong currents which affect the west coast.

Ok thanks for the info regarding the currents ...I knew nothing about them...

Hello,
I snorkeled near Pomos village one year, I think it was June, right next to a green turtle and it was indeed an amazing experience.
I believe that by September the nesting season is over for both species (green and loggerhead). I suppose that there may still be hatchings of the little ones, but I would suppose that the adults are not around.
There are turtles nesting in various regions of Cyprus.
I hope you enjoy your stay here.
