Hi
We have just come back from this hotel where we had our wedding and the reception. I have read lots of different reviews over the last 18 month about this hotel and the wedding package and costs so it would be fair to say I was slightly nervous about how it would all come together once we got there.
I have to say that it was fantastic! We got married in the chapel courtyard at 3pm on 25th August. It was perfect I really can not describe how happy I was with everything. Zoe the co-coordinator was so helpful (even when I gave her a suitcase full of stuff like wedding favours seating arrangements and things to sort out for the reception) The morning of the wedding went so smoothly and I would defiantly recommend the hair dresser even though it was expensive I think that not having Maria to do my hair would have made the morning stressful trying to do it myself. She was very friendly, came to my room and had it done in no time leaving me plenty of time to relax before getting ready.
After the service we had the %26quot;champagne%26quot; reception this was really the sparkling wine from the hotel and we did the cake cutting and served this to our guests. I know that someone else has said that it was horrible but I really didn%26#39;t think it was much different from any other real champagne I’ve had.
Our photography was done by Aphrodite Moments which consist of married couple Steve and Karen. They were fab. Really friendly and put us at ease. I don%26#39;t really like having my photo taken but I actually found myself enjoying it. After the wedding day Steve and Karen came to the hotel to show us the pictures on a disc, we decided to pay extra to get all the pictures, there was over 300 hundred of them and I couldn%26#39;t bear to not have them all. This worked out a lot cheaper than the first choice album of 24 pictures.
A lot of people have said that they didn%26#39;t have the reception at the hotel because it was expensive. However we did and I am so happy we did it this way. We held the reception in the courtyard as well, we had three big tables all decorated with chair covers, bows on the chairs, wedding favours balloons the lot it looked lovely especially when it got dark and the lights in the trees came on it was so romantic. We had a five course meal with drinks included throughout the meal which lasted a couple of hours. The meal was out of this world. I can honestly say that I have never had a meal that nice before. We had full waiter service and they were brilliant (Sharif and Babu) made the evening so enjoyable they made sure everyone had a drink all the time and were so friendly.
We took our own music and used the hotels CD player and we just danced all night (till three in the morning) although we were asked to turn the music down slightly once it got to about 2 am which of course was understandable.
I am happy we chose to stick to our decision to have the reception at the hotel and not let the posts on here change our minds because it was everything I had been dreaming since the day we booked the wedding. Regarding the costs, if you are thinking you can get married for next to nothing you would be wrong but in comparison to getting married at home it is not any more expensive I believe that we got more for our money than we would back home so I was happy to pay. Our menu cost 43 Euros per person or 35 if they were all inclusive for the 5 course meal and all drinks throughout the meal. There were 22 of us in total and we all had a fantastic day.
