Pernera, Cyprus

Hi. I%26#39;m new to trip advisor and I%26#39;m trying to find out as much about Pernera as I can before booking a holiday for next Summer.

I stayed in Protaras for one week during the Summer of 2007 but never really got to see much of the surrounding area. I%26#39;m a huge beach lover, and although I prefer more laid back nightlife than what Protaras has to offer, I very much loved Fig Tree Bay and worry that Pernera won%26#39;t live up to my expectations.

What I really want to know is how Pernera compares to Protaras (beaches, restaurants, bars, shops, cleanliness and general look of the town itself). Any information you could provide me with will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

I like Penera its more laid back than Protaras, i dont go in the day though as the beach isnt a patch on fig tree, in my opinion. I usualky have a few nights out in Penera though

Perners is much much smaller than protaras, There is a reasonable selection of bars and restaurants for the amount of hotels in the area.

Like protaras you have a main strip, but it is much shorter. the most popular bars are knights and windmills, both of which have things going on in the evenings. there is a good choice of restaurants as well, including indian, mexican and chinese.

most of the hotels are along the main strip or just behing one end of it where the tsokkos hotels are located. There is also a beach bar down this end called alati which is quite trendy, popular with the locals, packed at weekends and has great dj%26#39;s.

It also on the bus route from paralimni to ayia napa so you can get inot either of these or protaras quite easily. They have also built a pathway now so that you can walk between protaras and perners in about 30 minutes.

Hello Fellow Welsh trip advisor user.......

To answer your question, I went to Pernera Beach Hotel this year for the 1st time {%26#39;solo%26#39; and in Cyprus} It was brilliant, great hotel {right on the beach-room 308 great beach view} brill hotel, staff and guests........As I was %26#39;solo%26#39; I planned many things to do before I went{thanks to trip advisor}so I would know where to go etc-but I didn%26#39;t need to because the hotel was in a great location for beach, sea, walking, busses, daytime entertainment, nighttime entertainment and trips to other parts of Cyprus....... all in all I highly recommend this hotel and the area of Pernera...
