med beach-vs-capo bay or Protaras vs Limassol!

Like the reviews for both these hotels - med seems to get top marks from everyone, but the beach looks lots better at capo bay!! Also, Protaras seems much quieter than Limassol (although not exactly looking for Aiya Napa here either!) Has anyone been to both??! Please help!

the capo bay is a lovely hotel right on a superb beach, ive never been to limasol so cant comment on there

Can only speak for the Mediterranean Beach which is a very nice hotel. It is in a fairly quiet area of Limassol with just a few tavernas, bars and shops and not in the main tourist area. There is a long road which runs from the old town which has some good restaurants through the tourist area on past the area with the Med Beach right up to the very quiet area where the Meridian Hotel is. This road is about 15 K long and a number 30 bus runs all the way along it. It you do not opt for a seaview room this road can be quite noisy at night with boy racers. It depends what you are looking for really I think Protaras appeals to families for the nice beaches.

Hi the beaches in protaras are a lot nicer than the ones in limassol and there is more do in protaras, limassol is ok i am moveing over there after next year not chooseing limassol by choice there is more work there.if you choose protaras try to visit cape grecko the scenery is awesum. i do know the med hotel it is in a lovley area ,but it is on a busy main road that is used as a race track esp at night, for a holiday i find protaras more relaxing, let us know when you get back julie

The Mediterranean Beach is actually on a nice stretch of beach that it shares with the Four Seasons. If you hire a car Limassol is a great base for touring the island.

Thanks for the advice Julie! I%26#39;m reading more and more about this boy-racer circuit thing so I think I%26#39;m heading for Protaras!

Tjhanks Twigs! It%26#39;s definitely a family holiday - sun, sea and sand, so it%26#39;s beginning to look a lot like Protaras! Car hire essential though, I suppose...
