Riverside holiday village

Hi

Thanks to everyone who posted excellent information about currency exchange. I would also like to know a little bit about the area surrounding the riverside holiday village. Are there any child friendly restaurants in walking disatnce? Where would be best to hire a car from and can you get child seats? How late does the coutesy bus return from Kyrenia?

Any information much appreciated.

Most Restaurants in N Cyprus are child friendly,I have never stayed at Riverside so not sure about within walking distance but there are lots of Places to eat around Alsancak Area. One I can recommend is The Punjab that in spite of its name does European as well as indian food and a wicked roast dinner on Sundays.

As for Car Hire Im certain that Riverside does Car hire, not sure about car seats,as have never needed them.Another company you could try is one called Sevener which has its own website.

Sorry, can,t help about courtesy bus, other reviewer may be able to help you there.

There are a couple of restaurants in walking distance. Park Lane is the nearest. It is a small holiday complex with a pool that has a nice bar and restaurant and entertainment on various evenings. A bit further though still probably less than 15 mins walk is Acmenya which is another great restaurant http://www.cypyp.com/partneracmenya.htm Then just past Acmenya there is Lacem. Cannot comment because I haven%26#39;t been there but looks ok from the outside.

There are loads of hire car places around (Acmenya being one) but be a little careful because Riverside may charge you to park a hire car from another company in their carpark (yes they do do this) so you should check this out before making a decision.

I agree with the earlier poster that Punjab is a must if you like Indian food. It%26#39;s in Lapta, Alsancak end, on the main road.

Acmenya is nearer to Riverside, but could not recommend this one. The service and attitude was appalling when we went recently - the only place we%26#39;ve been to in TRNC where we found really bad service. In view of this I would be careful hiring a car from them. Lacem, which is further up the road towards the main road is a better bet. It%26#39;s a little more expensive but better quality and pleasant staff.

If you like Mezes, Cenap in Alsancak village has a good reputation and friendly staff.I%26#39;m sure your children would be made welcome.

It%26#39;s a shame that you had a bad experience at Acmenya recently. I have been a number of times and the service has always been very good so hopefully it was just an off night. Would still recommend it as it one restaurant that serves Cypriot cuisine without having to book in advance.
