We are planning a visit to Cyprus in March 2010 %26amp; Latchi has been recommended as a place to stay. Does anyone know if there will be much going on at that time of the year in Latchi or does the town close up for the Winter?
We are looking to stay in a reasonably quiet town/village on the coast with a good selection of restaurants, so any ideas would be gratefully received.

There are quite a lot of ex-pats living in the Latchi (also called Latsi), Polis, Argaka area so hopefully someone can give you detailed information but pretty sure the place does not %26#39;close up%26#39; for the winter, although not all places will be open. Would think the larger places with indoor seating will be open. Polis is larger and, again, there should be enough places open in March. I know that a large number of bird watchers and nature lovers go to the area in March/April. The whole of that coastline from Latchi through to Polis and onto Pomos is lovely and quiet, easy to drive around.

We have been to Latchi in late March a number of times. Most of the restaurants around the harbour and on the main roads through Polis, Argaka and Neo Chorio will be open, but if you venture off the beaten track in the mountains then you may find it more difficult to find places to eat and drink.
The boat trips and watersports will be open, but you may have less choice in terms of activities, or timetables. For example, only one of the boats that travels up and down the coastline will run daily rather than the two or three that run in the summer.
Hope that helps!
Jo
