Is The Zoo Still There ?

Trying to find if the zoo is strill in protaras,Also any directions would be helpfull if it still is.

not sure ... the sign still exists... as I%26#39;ve seen it while out and about walking... if memory serves (and its probably doesn%26#39;t) its off the top road between Pernera and Protaras...or is that where the sign is?

I%26#39;ve not seen it but there is an animal reserve near Achna Dam.

we stayed in malama holiday village 2 yrs ago and there was a Zoo ? on the road to the border, and take my advice DONT go , it was one of the worst zoos we have ever been in and my grandkids got upset at the state of the enclosures, there was also a lookout tower with a telescope to view Famagusta.

Thats the Famagusta Zoo and Lookout Point - I think its really more about showing what happened with the north / south divide and what really happened.... I think the zoo is there just to give it a reason to exist...(rather than here is a place to look over into the north... )

yes the one at the lookout point is terrible, i went in april and there were just lots of birds in small cages full of spider webs.

there is the ocean aquarium which has penguins, crocodiles, turtles, birds and obviously lots of fish. this is past pernera just off the big roundabout where you can either head inot paralimni or inot kaparris and the famaugusta view point. its not that big but should pass an hour or 2. its €11 to get in.

you can get to it on the bus from the centre of protaras and the driver normally shouts when its the right stop for it.

1 think the zoo you are talking about is at the end of kennedy ave in kapparis, just by the view point,the cafe has the most evil looking snakes behind glass I did not even get the drink i wanted because of the dam things were stareing at me .the place was still open last year, it is not much of a place dont waste yr money julie
