Hi Guiness,

In Paphos itself - Ktima - which is upper Paphos, near the municipal market is a small restaurant called %26quot;Klimateria%26quot;. It is in, what was, the Turkish quarter, near a mosque. It isn%26#39;t posh but it%26#39;s very Cypriot and very reasonably priced. You can sit out under a grape vine. It%26#39;s opposite a car park but I can%26#39;t remember the street,

If you have a car, then it%26#39;s worth a trip to Nata village, which is nearer to Paphos airport than Paphos itself.On Sunday, the taverna %26quot;Periklis%26quot; do a buffet lunch which is also very Cypriot and popular with expats. It%26#39;s on Leoforos Demokratias and the phone number is 99 46 70 79 - they speak english. They are closed on Mondays, but open for lunch and dinner on other days. It%26#39;s worth the drive but do book for the Sunday buffet or else you may find it full. I haven%26#39;t really eaten at many places in Paphos, as the ones on the front are obviously more pricey. However, %26quot;Hondros%26quot; which is overlooking a car park, vaguely near Debenhams,also has Cypriot food as well as european, though last year it was more pricey than previously.

Happy Holiday.

Hi Guinness

We go to a Restaurant in Kato Paphos opposite Almyra Hotel called The Happy Island, great food and service and at weekend full of Cypriots which is always a good sign. Stelios and staff will look after you.

Its up the road a bit but without doubt one of the best.

No frills but it has been awarded Best Meze in Cyprus

Hi,

We are in our mid twenties and like good food. We went to Chloe%26#39;s (at the harbour), yummy Chinese food. Make a reservation. Cavallini%26#39;s Italian on Poseidonos Ave is really lovely, quality homemade food. Poco Loco Mexican is an authentic Mexican with delicious cocktails (not cheap though). The Bombay Brasserie was another we like, that%26#39;s Indian obviously. All these cost us between 60 and 80 euro with 3 courses and some wine or cocktails for 2 people.

If you are near the %26quot;triangle%26quot; junction you could try Rimini,Sunbow or our favourite Rendezvous

Hi,

Gabors French restaurant is absolutely fantastic. It is on Poseidon Avenue up the stairs next to the Chinese. The service and food are to die for and it is no more expensive that anywhere else. You get extra little touches and it is a nice romantic setting. You will be hard pressed to get a bad meal in Paphos but Gabors certainly has the edge. We always go at least twice on our visits. Where are you staying and I can tell you how near you are to it.

Koritsi, interesting that you thought Hondros to be good. It was recommended to us but we must have caught it on a bad night. I wouldn%26#39;t recommend Hondros to anyone. Much rather go to Mothers. That%26#39;s the beauty of Paphos there is something to suit all sorts - even me, ha ha.

|||

Oh- maybe my visits to Hondros were on good days (about 4 times in different years)but I found their Cypriot dishes good - like soutsoukakia etc. I didn%26#39;t try anything else.

soutsoukakia

I had to look that up.

soutsoukakia = cumin-flavoured meatballs.

Sounds yummy.
