were going on 4th oct for 8 days really looking forward to going, never been before. we have hired a car for 7 days, so need plenty of recommendations on where to go, where to eat and directions to a nice beach to chill!!

If you like Indian food, Punjab is not far from Almond on the main road and is very good. They also do British food of the same standard if you don%26#39;t like Indian! Reasonably priced, too.
If you turn left in Alsacak towards the Merit hotel (signposted), on the left is Tervetuloa hotel. This is in a garden setting, and you get 12 mezes included free when you order a main meal. Can really recommend, but make sure you%26#39;re hungry!
I think the beaches in Alsancak are a bit better than the Lapta ones. Golden bay next to Deniz Kizi is good and costs 5L each for sunbed and shade. Escape beach is also good but twice the price. It does have a good cafe overlooking the beach, though.
Both are signposted (left!) off the main road as you drive towards Kyrenia. If you like a quiet, small beach, Camelot is nearer to Almond, and again signposted.This is %26#39;a nice beach to chill%26#39;! Costs 10L each, but very relaxing. It has a decked area, overlooking the sand,with big cushioned sunbeds!
